This Acoma Horsehair pot by Corrine Louis measures approx.: 1.5" high x 5.5" wide; 1" mouth Corrine Louis is a member of Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico. She is an award winning potter, born in 1959 and is considered the innovator of horsehair pottery. The idea came to her when one of her own strands of hair fell on the pottery and scorched the pot. It was from this accident that the idea of using such a method to decorate pottery was invented. She and her husband, Gary Louis, developed the technique using horsehair. Corrine Louis has won awards at the New Mexico State Fair, Albuquerque and is listed in many publications. Item ID: pot118pl
