This Navajo Pottery measures approx. 5" high x 5.75" wide; 1" mouth. About the artist, Hilda Whitegoat: Hilda Whitegoat was born in 1967 into the Navajo Nation and began making pottery at the age of 23 in 1989. She learned her art from her sister, well known Navajo potter Susie Charlie. Susie Charlie is credited with pioneering Navajo Etched Pottery. Hilda paints on ceramic pottery and uses a sharp blade to hand etch on the pottery. Then, she fires her pottery in a kiln. She paints and etches on all sizes of ceramic ware. Hilda signs her pottery as: Hilda Whitegoat, Navajo. Hilda Whitegoat is related to the following artists: Everson Whitegoat (brother), Myron Charlie (nephew), and Michael Charlie (nephew) and Susie Charlie (sister). Item ID: pot130pl
